Dancin' Babies, Dancin' Diva's and Pre-School Classes
Dancin' Babies is a Parent-Child dance class, ages
18 months to 3 years of age. The Dancin' Diva's class, (without parent) is a continuation of Dancin' Babies, ages 3 and 4 years of age and dancers graduate to the Pre-K/Kindergarten classes, ages 4 and 5.
The classes introduce ballet and tap terminology plus creative dance movement using a variety of manipulative's throughout the dance class. These fun and interactive dance classes improve, dexterity, flexibility, agility, balance and hand-eye coordination. In addition, the dance students experience group participation, social interaction, creativity and self expression. As students advance, their dance knowledge grows complementing their developmental stages and skill levels. The dancer's self esteem, confidence and overall appreciation for the dance arts develops and continues to flourish while attending dance classes.
The Benefits of Dance Props Used In Dance Classes
Rhythm Sticks - Rhythm stick activities teaches the student to learn concepts such as body identification, directionality (high/low, right/left, up/down). Routines address locomotor and fine movement skills, coordination, team work and following directions.
Musical Instruments - Children love marching bands and playing instruments. Students learn rhythm and timing, counting skills, and tap dancing steps while marching to a variety of songs.
Scarf Activities - Using scarves enhance motor skills and helps children to express creative dance movements all while enjoying physical activity, dance and modern beats.
Parachute Activities - Teaches the children teamwork, addresses gross and fine motor skills and following directions, ballet steps, bouree's, skips, gallops and chasse‘s are implemented while using the parachute.
Hoops - Dancing with hoops provides cardiovascular endurance, object manipulation skills, spatial awareness, left/right awareness, coordination and body awareness.
Balance Beam - Students agility and balance are challenged as they walk forward, backwards, and side ways on the balance beam. Children balance on the beam practicing arabesque, attitude, and passe.
Ribbon Sticks - Dance students create artistic-flowing dance movements while using the ribbon sticks. Ribbon stick patterns, cross over, lasso, and coil, to name a few, are performed while children twirl, leap, run, gallop and chasse.
